There are some quick and easy tips to follow. Some of the things I recommend may seem like no brainers, it did actually take me a week or so of using the R4 DS Card daily to figure out how to make my life a whole lot easier.

1. Store your game files in a directory on your microSD Card. Make a folder called games, and ONLY store your games in this folder. It makes navigating the menu much easier, and all of your save game files will also be origanized by default.

2. Try to orignize your MP3 files as well as Video files by creating a seperate directory for each one of them on the microSD memory card. This is a MUST for anyone that has lots of music, with all of the track names labelled TRACK 1.mp3, TRACK 2.MP3, and others, etc….. By putting your files in seperate and different directories, you’ll at least have them organized because you can put all of your MP3 albums in individual directories so you’ll at least know that TRACK-1.MP3 in the TIESTO directory is from the newest and latest Tiesto album.

3. Make sure you try and make a copy of all of your game saves on your hard drive at least 1-2 times a week. Saving your games isn’t something to do because you worry about losing your game saves due to a bad microSD card. It is a guarantee agaist that, but it also means you can always go back to an earlier game save. It’s also good to get into this habit because you may erase a game (and its save game file) and not have a backup in case you want to play that game once again sometime in the future. While this one really seems like an obvious hint, you would be surprised to know that most of our technical support emails for the R4 DS deal with how to get back erased or deleted game saves that were not backed up. If you play games more often, you should definitely do this at least once per week or more often.

4. Don’t take out the R4 DS from the Nintendo DS console each time you want to add files to the microSD Card. Just push the microSD card and it will pop of out the slot in the r4 ds card. Use the included microSD card reader / writer to change your games, music and movie files or add more to your collection on your microSD card.

5. This is my final (and quite possibly the most obvious) tip. And it works with the microSD card in your R4 DS Card. When you put the NDS, Nintendo DS lite or Nintendo DSi in your pocket or pick it up. Check to make sure that the microSD card is in the R4 DS card. Make sure that the microSD card is in the card slot of the R4DS and it’s not loose or ready to pop out. While there are failsafes to protect you against the microSD from popping out the microSD card accidentally, it could happen. There would be nothing that could be more of a problem that not knowing where your microSD Card is. MicroSD Cards are small and tiny, and once lost, you would have a hard time finding it anywhere else except at a store, where you’d be buying a new one. I suggest always carrying your NDS in a case to make sure you do not lose your R4 DS card. A case makes it much less likely that you’re r4 ds card will get lost. You should make sure to that this is something you do before you even turn it on.

The r4 DS allows you to power up your NDS by allowing you to run homebrew game and applications as well as watch movies, read ebooks, and more. Player versus Player (PvP) combat is in your Hunter’s future, even if you’ve avoided it so far. Wrath of the Lich King has brought a new emphasis to World PvP. There’s now a real time PvP battle zone called Lake Wintergrasp. There, the emphasis is on real-time World PvP. There players go at it on the live server (no instancing) to win points that allow them to buy rare and valuable items, including the new Heirloom items. These are items that any character in their account regardless of that character’s level can take advantage of.

Given the popularity of Lake Wintergrasp and the increasing amount of PvP combat in other popular games, you’ll surely see more even more PvP in WoW in the future. So let’s talk about Hunters and PvP:

If you want to be a Hunter in PvP combat, it helps to have the instincts of a hunter. Why? Because you’re going to need to be able to identify your prey and understand how it will respond to your attack. Then you need to use this knowledge to stalk and kill it. You need to understand the capabilities of your character and its gear, as well as the tactical situation. Then you need to position yourself and terminate your prey with extreme prejudice before it can take you out. In World of Warcraft Player versus Player combat, it’s much the same, except that your prey is smarter and more cunning than any animal.

However, in Hunter PvP combat, there are issues that no real-world hunter has to deal with. Understanding the best time to employ your Freezing and Frost Traps and essential crowd control devices is one thing. You also need to know how to manage the space between you and your opponents so you can hurt them as badly as possible before they get close in each fight. And you must do all this against an intelligent character, rather than a wild animal.

If you want to be really successful in Hunter PvP combat, you need to understand the behavior of each enemy class and have a strategy for dealing with them. In particular you need to understand how Druids or Warriors or Rogues are most likely to come at you. At the same time, you have to have a strategy for countering quick charges into hand-to-hand combat range by Warriors and Rogues.

It’s possible to learn what you need to know by putting in enough time in the arena. But from my own personal experience, if you try this you can expect to get defeated regularly and be humiliated for a long time. You don’t want to know how many hours I spent at the bottom of the standings in the arena before I finally started getting the hang of it. It wasn’t until I picked up a Hunter PvP Guide that I was able to make real progress.

A few days ago I decided to create a new Blood Elf character. Since I wasn’t up for grinding my way to higher levels (again), I invested some money in the Horde  version of the Zygor Guides. I wanted to see if the hype was true and I could level faster with the guide. Here are my impressions from the first couple of days of using Zygor.

Some Background

I hadn’t found previous leveling guides to be of much use. As much as anything else, that’s because of the way you had to keep jumping in and out of the game to consult the guide. It was a major headache. Eventually, I set up a second computer. I played the game on one and read the guide on the other. Not only was it a pain in the neck, but it disrupted the flow and pulled my head out of the game world whenever I had to consult the guide.

Why Zygor Guides are Better

My Zygor Horde Guide works within the game. How is that different than the old guides I used? It means that the guide information appears in a window right inside the game. With this kind of presentation, the information is much more accessible, and feels like an integrated part of the game, which makes the whole experience much smoother and more fun.

You’re also in control of the amount of information the guide gives you. If I just want to focus on in-the-moment action, I can close the Zygor Guide window completely. You can have a small window with the minimal amount of information, just enough to let you know what your next objective is. My brother had a character that was several levels higher than mine, who got there the old-fashioned way. He offered to have his character escort mine for a bit.
